WE ALL REMEMBER THE FIRST TAMIYA KIT WE HAD

MINE WAS A SAND ROVER (still waiting for the reissue!)

My era was the days of the frog, the hornet, grasshopper and subaru brat, the Lunch Box and Hotshot.

It all seemed more magical back then, firstly you had build a kit, there were no RTR's. The best hopups available were ballrace kits and slightly hotter motors.

Back yard bashing your Hornet until your tyres were bald was the best we could do, structured racing was a thing of dreams.

We all know Tamiya have resurrected their sales by reissuing these fabulous cars, with all but minor updates.

I am looking for anyone who may be interested in racing a retro Tamiya off roader. Got a 20yr old relic or new reissue kit and an urge to race?

We will use our large tarmac oval with a few mild jumps and bumps all well within the cars capabilities. Of course there will be structured racing and lap counting.

Restrictions apply Tamiya esc or manual speedo only, Tamiya silver can, black can sport tuned or 23t Ansmann motor only. Allowable hopups are ballraces only. Whatever wheels & tyres you can make work in keeping with your model. 7.2v NiMh, Nicads or hard cased LIPO's 2cell only.

We may end up a bunch of old farts reliving our childhood dreams, so be it!! Let's make it happen, we have the venue, we have the equipment, we just need bodies with cars.

you can find an old hornet for as little as £20 on ebay.

NEW REISSUE ITS AND SPARES AVAILABLE FROM THE SIGN SHACK.
